1. The Anonymous network is hacking sites right and left in defense of First Amendment rights after the shutdown of Megaupload.

I get the feeling my American compatriots, that we are, if you will pardon my language, royally fucked.  And I mean, SCREWED.

I am not saying that what they’re doing is right or wrong, but I think this is sending the wrong message.  We had a slight victory yesterday with many supporters of the SOPA/PIPA bills becoming opposed to it.  This stunt the Anonymous sect is pulling could literally mess up the whole thing.

And to join my other Tumblr friends/co-bloggers: It has been an honor sharing my thoughts and reblogging images, .gifs, and everything else imaginable with you.  I have made a couple friends through here, and knowing I can never speak to you again makes me a little sad on the inside.  Because the one person I do have regular reblogs/replies with on here I am also following on Twitter, which would also be pretty much shuttered if SOPA should pass.

These last 3 years have been amazing.  If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t love Louis Garrel or Merlin as much as I do.  Without you, my obsession with Eoin Macken/Gwaine would not be as huge as it is now.

Live long and prosper. Imagine me giving a Vulcan salute a la Spock right now.

  2. I got this for my Wordpress blog.  I have lifted the blackout, but I still support this protest.

I got this for my Wordpress blog.  I have lifted the blackout, but I still support this protest.

  3. I’ve blacked out my blog for the day.

I had blacked out the blog.  I changed my mind.

I have 29 followers, and I don’t know where most of you live, but here in the United States, our Government is trying to take away our First Amendment rights by policing the Internet.  If they successfully pass SOPA or PIPA, Tumblr ceases to exist.  Well it doesn’t cease to exist, but the fun things we do on here will.  The bill allows the Government to go after websites for posting copyright materials.  What that means is no more .gifs of Merlin or Doctor Who.  It also means that should this bill pass, other countries will follow suit.

YouTube remakes or covers of famous songs would be illegal, and other sites would become essentially blocked, much like other countries who block content or webpages (like Facebook, among others).

I have liked only one thing here, so you’re not missing much.  I might disable this block of my page, and try and find a banner that doesn’t involve any HTML knowledge, since I suck at that kind of thing.

    Thank you for your patience.

About me

I’m an oldest child, 28-years old, lover of Shakespeare and Keats, and all things beach-related. Please be aware that nude images may occur (I like European films). And I am obsessed with Eoin Macken.
