Did anyone watch Downton Abbey last night?  Because I caught up on last night’s episode, and I literally became excited at the end.  And these are highlights, not an actual synopsis.

  • Thomas-What the HADES do you think you are doing?  Yes, you’re a Sergeant and no one but Dr. Whatshisname can order you around, but that doesn’t give you the right to be Mr. High and Mighty Pants.  You still are a guest in Downton, and that doesn’t give you the right to boss around the downstairs staff, especially little Daisy.
  • Isobel Crawley-I am so sick of her Mrs. High and Mighty Nurse crap. Thank god you left for France because you weren’t being appreciated. You kept sticking your nose where it didn’t belong.  And did you really believe that Lady Grantham was going to let you take over her household?  Because if you did, I seriously laugh at you.
  • Daisy-Daisy, are you feeling something more for your “fiancé?”  Because if so, that’s so freaking cute.  And even if you don’t, caring about his personal safety is very kind of you.
  • Ethel-I feel for you, I do.  What woman with urges can ignore an officer who clearly gives you attention?  But, there is a time and a place, and obviously that is not under the roof of your employer with a man who is recovering from the Great War.  I hate saying this, but he was using you for your sex. Men like him clearly don’t want to put a ring on it.  And now you’re carrying his child.
  • Mr. Molesley-You try and try to get into Downton, whether it be by marrying Anna (which is NEVER going to happen), or by taking Mr. Bates’ place.  But you ought to have seen Mr. Bates returning.  Lord Grantham cannot manage without his faithful valet.
  • Lady Sybil/Branson-I love you two.  Since I know what happens the end of the season, I must keep my mouth shut.  But I love you both, even if Sybil is being a little slow to the game.
  • Lady Mary-I know you feel pushed to marry, but for the love of everything that is holy, DO NOT accept Carlisle!  I have a feeling there is more to his and Lavinia’s past than she claims.  That, and he’s an ass.
  • Matthew-Keep being your beautiful blue-eyed self.  Because I love you, and Mary loves you.  Besides, how adorable are you when you’re carrying around her good luck charm?
  • Mrs. Bird-thank you for opening your home to the wounded soldiers with no place to go.  Your feeding them I am sure will have rewards.

Okay, final thoughts: When Matthew and William are talking ladies before venturing out to spy on the Germans, who noticed he’s talking of love, but picks up Mary’s totem and leaving behind his photo of his fiancée?  I just loved that part so much. Second, if someone does not smack Thomas around, I will be forced to do it myself.  Because that smug bastard needs a good kick to his ass.  Like I mentioned, I think Daisy’s concern for William is adorable, whether or not she’s in love with him.

And the end with the concert?  I just about died of happy.  If you could have seen my face, I looked like I had swallowed a smiley pill.  I had my hand covering my mouth, and I was just bouncing and smiling like a buffoon.  Actually, I looked a lot like this.  I love Matthew and Mary, if you couldn’t already tell.  And the fact her entire family loves him, and wants them together says so much.  I know it doesn’t always work out that way, but for 1917, that’s a HUGE deal.

Anyway, if you watch Downton Abbey, please tell me your favorite parts or comment on mine.  I love hearing people’s thoughts on the show.
